Reply with quote | #1 | Visited Gerald Dale Motorsport today with a friend in his Mini, his car and my Tiger were set up on the rollers by Gerald Dale. Can't recommend him enough, he spent plenty of time with both cars to get the ignition timing and carburetors set up just right, we both saw a gain in bhp and torque. He's been racing and preparing Minis for years, but seems to have long standing customers with all sorts of automotive 'porn', which today included an genuine old Jag and a replica 'D' Type. He's in Ninfield, East Sussex, TN33 9EE.

I'd go along with that. I've not been there yet, but I'm planning to. It was Gerald that told me to get my progression holes sorted. He said he'd do what I liked but that I'd be wasting my money until I had that and a few other bits sorted. Free advice and I'll be going down there soon. __________________ Tiger Super Six Independent

Just had Gerald set up my carbs (2.0l Zetec, 45 DCOEs)
He ran it on the rollers, said it was going lean on the idle jets as you throttle ed up until it hit the mains. Didn't need new jets he just opened up the ones I had, (with a micro drill), one step.
He then re ran it one the rollers, proclaimed it fixed, did the paperwork, print outs etc while I took it for a test run, and he was right spot on, now runs like it should have always done.
Best £100 I have spend recently, so thought it right to recommend on here.

Reply with quote | #4 | I remember going there for a Dyno run with the Renault 5 Turbo Owners club about 10 years ago. Nice bunch of guys, - they even changed the jets in some of the guy's cars, which was nice as all we had paid for was a power run.
Plenty of racing minis outside and on the day they had a Ferrari in for a service - and had taken the entire engine out to change the plugs. Glad we dont have that problem!! __________________ 1.8 Zetec, Piper Cams, 167bhp - more to come. |
