I guess it depends on what power you have, but I think i'm right in saying that most of us use a standard road pinto clutch on the Tiger Zetec flywheel. In fact i think in standard zetec class you can't use anything other than the standard clutch. I would check the regs but I can't get the link to work at the moment.

I know that Mac uses a plated race clutch which works in binary code !

Tommy i will be in the RAFMSA series to begin with as i think it will be a shallower learning curve, with a wider spread across the field. I plan to do this for a season and review. i will no doubt see you lot in the allcomers, etc. im not bothered about points in my first season as i will have to learn how to race as most of my motor sport to date has been trackdays and a couple of seasons of sprinting. i realise that with a six with 200+bhp, lsd and close ratio box i wont be eligble for the standard class. Maybe i can start a Super Six class , if not i will have to go in the open.

Ed, Why don't you come down to Brands and see us all (14th Nov). i think you'll see that we all have some great fun.
You won't need to be too concerned with a steep learning curve, you already have more experience than i did before i raced with the series.

We've had some really close but fair races this season and it would be a shame not to see you in our series. You could always do one or two races with us when we have a Tiger only grid if you want ease into it gently.

To be perfectly honest one of the reasons why i havnt thought of the Tiger series as my first choice is financial. you seam to travel further a field than the RAF (im based in lincs) and there also seams to be a higher attrition rate, ie more bumps and knocks etc. I cant afford to rebuild bits on the car next season as i have shelled out alot for the race van, new suit, new helmet, ards etc etc. I might do a few in both series, is there a provisional calendar for next year yet? ie which curcuits and apoximate dates?

I haven't bumped mine this year and this year was the first time I have raced.  My only previous experience was a few track days in a 205 and Golf Gti. I think the Tiger racing is some of the cleanest racing around.

I would have to agree, car to car incidents are extremely rare, 2 big ones in 5 years of the series!

Most "offs" are single car, and even then there have only been a couple.

Just watch Caterham's on Motors TV, now there's a series I wouldn't want to start racing in.

it must be my mistake, for some reason i thought there was at least two biguns this year, or maybe it was because i saw the RS6 after doing its rolley polley. Ive looked at the provisonal calender for the Raf lot and it looks like i might do most of those and the closer tiger ones, ie Snet, Cadwell and sometimes dont you lot do Rockingham?

We've done Rockingham once two seasons ago. It doesn't look like we'll do it in 2010 as the cost of the circuit is stupidly high and we get better value elsewhere. Shame really as it's less than 10 minute drive from my home !!!
